End of March the Magnolia Society International (MSI) organized a tour to southern Britain divided into two parts, Cornwall and the South East of England. Some 50 magnolia philes from 10 countries made an exceptional interesting tour to seven great Cornish Gardens and one professional nursery. Jim Gardiner, former President of MSI and RHS Executive Vice President led us through the top gardens of UK where the owner often personally showed his house and the garden. During the whole journey there were an exceptional cold weather, even snow one night. Although that we got good experiences of most expected magnolias as well as other trees & shrubs and nice fellowships among the international participants. In four days we visited Antony House, Tregrehan Estate, Trewithen, Caerhays Estate, Burncoose Nurseries, Tregothnan, Glendurgan Garden and Lanhydrock. Our basecamp was Headland Hotel in Newquay.
